Charlotte was born with a passion for teaching, and has taken ballet classes since the age of 3, going on to assistant teach for many years and eventually become a qualified ISTD ballet teacher. She owned Pizazzle, a costume company that designed and created costumes for competitive dancers, and taught swimming for 9 years at local swim school Hilton Brown Swimming. Charlotte also has a Bachelor of Education in Primary teaching, as well as her Associate Diploma for ISTD Classical Ballet, and is very excited to share her love of ballet with students at de Vere School of Dance!
“I've known Charlotte for a number of years...She's amazing & has a special approach to kids. My daughter loves her classes.”
The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) is an internationally recognised dance examinations board, which offers many styles of dance, and is popular throughout the world. The aim of the Imperial Classical Ballet Faculty is to increase the standard and appreciation of Classical Ballet, both in performance and in teaching.
Classical Ballet Examinations:
These have been devised to provide a worthwhile sense of achievement both for children and young adults who dance for recreation and for children hoping to pursue a career in classical ballet. Exams progressively develop a child's technical ability and understanding, giving him or her a sense of dance, poise and an understanding of its relation to music. Whilst examinations are not compulsory, we highly recommend them, and dVSD students will be learning ISTD set syllabus work.
