Charlotte de Vere (A.dip I.S.T.D (Imperial Classical Ballet); BEd (Primary)

Charlotte has taken ballet lessons since the age of 3, and has known that she wanted to be a ballet teacher from her teen years. Born with a passion for teaching, she adores children, and thrives on the challenges of each lesson when working with so many personalities and ability levels.

Charlotte has been teaching children for 13 years, and has completed a Bachelor of Education in Primary teaching from the University of Auckland. She has been teaching ballet since 2010, after many years of assistant teaching as a student. Now, as a fully registered teacher of the ISTD Imperial Classical Ballet syllabus Charlotte is able to enter students into formal examinations.

Charlotte’s passion is ballet, and she has a flair for costume making as well, making dVSD her dream job. She is so excited to grow the dVSD family, and continue to turn her dream into a reality.

BRIE FENTON

BRIE FENTON

Brie fell in love with dance at a young age and has been dancing for 16 years. She initially trained in open jazz classes until the age of 13, at which time she began training in the ISTD Modern Jazz syllabus, and since then has passed all of the medal examinations. She then expanded her repertoire and added NZAMD Contemporary and ISTD Imperial Classical Ballet; this was when the start of Brie’s love for ballet began and led her on to study from Grade 4 through to Advanced 1.

Brie’s other dance experience includes NCEA Dance in high school, dancing at Tempo Dance Festival, dancing at New Zealand Fashion Week, and working closely with Touch Compass Dance Company. She also successfully completed a year of Bachelor of Dance Studies at UoA, until making the decision to purse dance teaching (specifically ballet), and shifting to studying Occupational Therapy at AUT.

Brie started assistant teaching alongside Charlotte four years ago, and started relieving classes in 2018. She has mainly taught ballet, but has relieved a variety of genres, including hip-hop, jazz and contemporary. She has taught students ranging in age from 3-17 years old, and thrives in fostering the love for dance in her students.
